NEW MAGAZINE (NOT REALLY)!!!
Today, my friend Tony Luong came by my studio slash apartment to take some photos. This one was feeling kind of weird and unnatural—Tony joked that it looked like the cover of a Martha Stewart Living. So I made it that. There are some more photos on Tony’s blog.
Hahahaha I would buy this issue. Lots of good tips and a centerfold.

Chris Ballasiotes. HIs loose use of watercolors and strong pigment caught my eye. My only criticism is his seeming one-track mind, all of his typography is a sort of surfer-dude brush script, which he does really really well, and it’s totally charming. So it’s not really a criticism as much as just wanting to see him do something else because I imagine he’d do it really well. LIke a really studied, but still energetic, serif or something. Or a really elegant calligraphed script maybe. Anyway, I’ve had a nice time browsing his portfolio.
